What is Mums Inc?

Mums inc is a members only organization where mum designers from all over texas come together to support each other in this creative business! members share stories, ideas and trends to make our businesses better! Being accepted in this group ensures your designer is dedicated to creating a quality product with the best information available!

 

What is traditional when ordering mums?

While it used to be traditional to have 1 flower per grade- freshman 1 flower, soph 2, etc. it is not set in stone! While some still adhere to this “rule”, Times have changed and so have the expectations- not all seniors want a huge 4 flower mum! Today, mums are more about self-expression and what one is comfortable with.

How do I choose which mum to get?

Whatever you LIKE-simple or elaborate! While there are no stated “rules”, typically underclassmen wear school colors and seniors save the biggest and most elaborate for last! Mums typically tell the story of the wearer with additions acknowledging their activities, accomplishments and anything else important to them. Many seniors choose to go all white and silver or add in an accent of school color or a favorite color. Symbolizing the stripping away of high school life and starting out on a new journey! Others choose to go full custom with different flowers, colors, SHAPES and theme of their choosing!

Do garters follow the same rules?

Generally, yes. Garters are usually just a smaller version of a full-size mum.

If they are a couple, Does the garter and mum have to match?

They don’t have to match, many times they are made or bought by different people. Personally, I would want them to match, but that’s just me!

What if my date goes to another school?

2 scenarios- they both have a mum and garter for each schools’ homecoming game- each having a strand of their own teams color somewhere on the mum/garter. Or, I have done a ½ & ½ -half in the boyfriends school colors and the other half in the girlfriends school colors and they wear the same to both games.

Do you only get a mum from a boyfriend?

Absolutely not! Mums and garters can be given by boyfriends, girlfriends, between friends, from parents, exchanged between friend or parent groups or just for yourself! Some people end up with more than one! It is as much of an expression of caring as it is an individual expression. THEY ARE USUALLY EXCHANGED A DAY MOR TWO  BEFORE OR MORNING OF HOMECOMING.

Do only kids in high school wear mums?

school spirit is contagious! Homecoming began at the collegiate level, spread to the high schools and now the spirit of homecoming is seen in every grade level!

When do I need to order?

It is best to order as soon as possible! Each mum is custom made and an adequate amount of time is needed to make each one unique! At least 2-3 weeks out is standard, more time needed for special requests. Any orders 7 days or less prior to the hoco date requires a late fee and is not guaranteed! Please contact me before ordering! I may not have time to squeeze it in, but I try my best!

When do I pick up my mum?

Pick up dates are usually the Wednesday or Thursday before the hoco date unless otherwise discussed. Time and place will be specified closer to pick up, but are usually in the evenings at or near the bucees at ih35 and 306 in new Braunfels. Damage after pick up is not subject to repair or replacement. Please look over your mum to confirm spelling and other accuracy. I want every customer to be satisfied with their purchase!

Payment

Payment in full is due at the time of ordering. If additions are requested and approved by me after ordering, remaining balance must be paid at or before pick up. I accept Venmo and Cash App.

I would like to order, but unsure of changes or cancellations.

My products are not returnable, but Depending on the request, some things may be changed or altered. shortening the ribbons, adding or changing names (young love, it happens). I am always happy to help when I can! Please contact me immediately if changes need to be made, but I cannot guarantee all requests will be possible. Some additional costs may apply.

Ordering Braids

Check out pictures of braids i offer under the options tab, MOST are shown without decoration. I choose at least 2 braids for every mum or garter. Not every braid is appropriate for every size mum, so I choose the ones that work best for that size and theme of mum. some braids are more complicated, take more time to make or use an excessive amount of ribbon to complete. These are listed as "Premium" braids. If there is a specific braid you want on your mum, there is a place in the Add-Ons section of the order form to add. Remember to put the name of the braid in the Comments section! If you are wanting more braids than there are spaces for ordering, just contact me and I can make arrangements! If you want more braids, but want me to decide which, just put Designers choice!

​3 mum chains come with a cut-out word on each flower. Ex: class of 2015- bump set spike- go fight win

Ordering Cut- Outs

Cut-Outs are the custom decorations I make to decorate the mum that represent everything about the wearer!

Every mum and garter comes with at least 1 cut-out on the flower and 2 on the ribbons. 2 colors are standard and can be upgraded to 3 colors. 

​Flower decor- Single Initial- usually the first letter of your first name​

                      school- can be letters like "nbhs" or word like "canyon"

                      mascot- can be an image of a bulldog or word like "Hawks"

                      activity- can be an image of a football or word like "baseball" 

                      monograms can be a single fancy letter or 3- first, middle, last

cut-outs included in base price can be words or stock images. "bobby, Jane", "sarah, captain", "terri, senior", "jack, swimming", "mary and image of a volleyball". "John, #24". any requests with more than a single word or image can be done in the Custom Cut-Out option. Ex: a football with the name or number in it. 

Cut-out packages come with 3 images or words or phrases that fit the theme. Ex: activity pkg: cheer- Package example: megaphone, "cheer" and pom pom cut-outs. Faith Package example: a cross, "Faith", "Be strong and Courageous"

​Group orders

group orders are accepted on a case-by-case basis depending on time, complexity and number of items. Examples of group orders would be for friend groups, mom groups, cheer and other activity groups. Each item would be the same except for the personalization. Examples of Group orders would include items such as:  mums, ponytail mums, megaphone mums, bracelet mums, mum rings, graduation leis, etc.
